The glacier forelands are evidence of the geomorphological history of their environments and are located in areas from which ice has recently receded. These are highly dynamic areas, where floods, erosion and sedimentation play an important role in the development of pioneer species. Dramatic, recurring events such as these reshape the area and bring together a wide range of species at varying stages of development.
