Located in the Haut Val de Bagnes nature reserve, built between 1951 and 1958, the imposing 250m-high concrete structure is the highest vaulted dam in Europe.
To find out more about its history, take the Dam Trail. It takes you to the top of the dam via an old 392-metre long gallery and traces the construction of the building. Once you reach the top of the dam, a splendid view of Lake Mauvoisin and the breathtaking waterfalls awaits you.
