It's the ideal training ground to get ready for the world-class section of the Trail Verbier Saint Bernard, nicknamed The Wall for its ruthless steep uphill climb! After a flat warm-up, followed by a very gentle 4km climb on the tarmac road from Le Châble to Le Cotterg, and then a country road up to the Cries Bridge, you get to the real deal: a sharp climb up a forested slope which opens up for two impressive views of the dizzying Déforant couloirs. After more than 600m of vertical gain that burns your thighs and makes your heart pound, the slope eases, the trees clear and you reach a smooth path with the "cherry on the cake" - a spectacular view over Verbier! A short, technical descent takes you down to the Château. The downhill to Le Cotterg is quite steep at times via Le Reposoir on a charming old stone road that winds through the forest to Le Châble.
