LIFTS
Change from electrical functionning
Téléverbier is progressively changing out the lifts’ engines for more environmental friendly engines. They are all of type asynchrone and of class IE4.
Speed Regulation
Depending on the crowd, the speed of the lifts can be adapted, allowing for the reduction of 10% of energy.
SNOW-GROOMING AND ARTIFICIAL SNOW-MAKING
Optimization of the diesel engines of the Snow-Grooming Machines
With the help of the company Alp Evolution, all the engines of grooming machines have benn optimized, therefore decreasing the consomation of fuel by 8%.
Also, the machines are modern and most of them correspond to the environmental norm Euro Tier 4F (with Ad Blue).
Measuring the Height of Snow
All of the snow-grooming machines have the necessary tools to measure the height of the snow ; allowing to determine the percentage of real versus artificial snow.
Artificial Snow-Making
An important part of the snow-making system is equiped with modern snow-makers. This system uses less energy and water than the older one.
BUILDING MANAGMENT
Heat Monitoring
All of our buildings are manitored, therefore allowing the heat to be changed from a distance. The buildings are all heated according to a schedule defined by their usage.
Triple-gaze windows
Most buildings have good insulation with triple-gazed windows.
Thermal Solar Panels
The building in Savoleyres has thermal solar panels that allow water to be heated for the restaurants on the slopes.
Photovoltaic Solar Panels
Some of the large surfaces of some of the buildings are equipped with photovoltaic solar pannels. For instance, this is the case of the building at the bottom of the Jumbo and Le Châble. The energy they produce is directly sent for the resort.
Heat Saving
The gondolas Le Châble-Verbier and Le Châble-Bruson are equipped with a heat saving systeped with a heat saving system.
Restaurant of Les Gentianes
The building of Les Gentianes is heated by an ecological boiler.
TRAIN – BUS OFFER:
Free shuttle + parking
Téléverbier SA subsidizes, with the municipality of Bagnes, the free shuttles in the resort of Verbier. This makes it possible to reduce the number of cars in the resort. In this objective of reducing pollution – disruption in the resort, Téléverbier SA provides free parking at Le Chable (from the ski lifts).
Verbier Express
In collaboration with SBB, Téléverbier SA will launch a “Verbier-Express”. This train will connect every Saturday and Sunday of the Geneva airport winter season to Le Châble and the runways of Verbier.
The first “Verbier-Express” will start on December 21. It will connect Geneva airport directly to Châble. “This snow train will leave on Saturday and Sunday mornings and return in the evening. The idea is to bring skiers from the end of the lake and the entire Lake Geneva basin in a two-storey train directly to the new Châble station, a stone’s throw from the lifts to Verbier and Bruson. All this without change in Martigny. A “ski + train package” will be created to promote this new offer at attractive prices.
Collaboration with RegionAlps
In addition to the creation of the Verbier Express with SBB, Téléverbier SA continues its collaboration with RegionAlps in Martigny. The regional train “St-Bernard Express” between Martigny and Le Chable will be available every 30 minutes.
FUTURE OBJECTIVE:
Téléverbier SA’s future objective is to eradicate plastic from the ski area in its restaurants and during its events. A project team has been set up to study the replacement of plastic material by other equipment (glass with deposit / drinking fountain /…)
